General Information

Description

Almed Equipment design Vertical Laminar Air Flow fitted with ESP results in a statistically significant reduction in air borne bacteria Colony Forming Unit (CFU). Gasket Material around the panel frame and on frame face provide seal between perforated face and the frame. This leaves no chance of unfiltered air mix up and cross contamination with the clean air . Thus the Laminar Air Flow System Design is flawless in all respect and ultimately it is safe, pure and effective. 

Features of Verticle Laminar Airflow are as follows.

  • The Vertical Laminar Air Flow concept is readily adoptable to operating room because the system provides a   downward movement of clean air (90 +/- 10) (FPM) through working zone of surgical team. The filtered supply air flow displaces the germs and aerosols released by occupants.
  • The air velocity (from HEPA) is maintained as per recom- mended internal and national guidelines (90 to 110 FPM) at grill / diffuser level.
  • After pre-filter, air passes through Ozone generating Germicidal UV Light and Electrostatic Precipitator  (which maintains static 2500 DC Volts) thus ensures that          germs get killed before reaching HEPA FILTER.
  • We are using imported HEPA FILTER MEDIA (M/S. HOLLINGSWORTH & VOSE, UK) and the entire system passes leak test which ensures that no unfiltered air get leaked from the sides of HEPA.
  • Simple to install and understand the performance.
  • Two units (Left & Right of OT Light) are independent from one another - electrical connection and blower motors are separate.
  • Entire system including the filters are reliable and all are manufactured under one roof.
  • The system being ductless can be easily inspected, main- tained and monitored from the OT end.
  • Almed Equipment Laminar Air Flow can be put “ON” just 30 to 40 minutes before the start of operation because it is independent of duct. Also it can be “SWITCHED OFF” after the operation is over. In case of conventional duct system based LAF, AHU blower need to be kept “ON” / “RUNNING” even during non functioning hours i.e. round the clock (may be without temprature control) to avoid fungs and bacterial growth in the Duct.
  • We are using single phase 1 HP 1440 RPM motor which is smooth running and noise within acceptable limits. Power consumption is negligible as compared to high static blower motor used in duct based / centralized system. 
  • Laminar Air Flow and Air Conditioning System is not linked with each other. This ensures that sterile air pouring on patient’s open wound will not cause shivering or uncomfort at the time of operation.
